We were a bit rushed after work and school but the 68-degree temperature was hard to beat for our evening run on Thursday, February 17.
Evan wasn't quite sure he would make it but we ran the longest stretch at one time tonight. During it, I heard about the good and bad of Pokemon DS-version. Let's just say I now need the book: Pokemon for Dummies :) because even after a brief explanation, I still don't get it. But I was excited for him and glad that he was talking.
Meanwhile, we kept passing many distractions like boys playing outside, other runners and people walking their dogs so to keep Evan focused, I started to set little goals for us. For example, we started walking at the next mailbox or let's get to that Stop sign. Well, Evan loved it and told me another story about how his P.E. teacher taught them to do the exact same thing. The P.E. teacher used the example of how he had to run a mile in four minutes to get to the state competition so he set small goals to build up to the big goal.
And at the end of our run, our very own "cheerleader" showed up in the driveway. He cheered us on as he came by in Daddy's car and again cheered for us as he got out of the car to wave as we passed by. He refused to stay out of the picture, so here he is post-run: (oh, his name is Eric)
And last, but not least:
Time: 23:45
Distance: 1.14 miles
Calories: 72.5
Steps: 2753
Pace: 2.6
Happy Running!
